Militia Templi - Misuse of ritual

I received a response from Ecclesia Dei regarding the use of the Benedictio novi militis from the Pontificale Romanum. The Militia Templi uses this for their investitures.

Msgr. Perl said that this rite has been suppressed. I wonder how long the Militia Templi has known this?...
